I know that a few of you 3610 Ion users are not getting fluid playback of Flash or DX in a browser or in Boxee even with the updates and all.  I’m stumped. I really am. As I’ve had great, smooth playback with my unit since day one.  Though, it seems to be random that a few are having a poor experience. And the symptoms are very similar to 1600 ION LE users and this just should not happen on the 3610.  So, here is a listing of my exact set up. It should be mostly complete.

boxee logo Get Better Boxee Beta TV Show Player Support on Revo Atom ION

Are you the owner of a Revo R3610 Atom Ion with Vista or Windows 7  and using Boxee Beta?  Are you having trouble getting some of the TV Show players to work like Fox, CBS and ABC? Well, I’ve got a new tip to Get Better Boxee Beta TV Show Player Support on Revo Atom ION.

While living my double life as a Boxee Forums Super Moderator, we discovered the following tid bit; Turns out that Boxee Beta relies on (requires) the PC to have Fire Fox browser installed AND the Move Networks plug-in. What? Did not know that? Heck, neither did I.  The reason is that Boxee has Mozilla browser built into it.  But, there are no plug ins installed. So, the Mozilla Browser in Boxee needs to borrow the plug ins from an external installation of Fire Fox. Got it?  I thought you would.

There are Revo users that have reported less than stellar performance after upgrading to the Flash 10.1 2p beta. But the first 10.1 1p beta is no longer available on the Flash web site.

So, to help everyone out, I’ve packaged the 10.1 1p beta and the matching Nvidia Vid & chipset drivers into a big ZIP pack. (more…)

I have a blog post with video coming up after the public release of Boxee Beta. I’ll explain how Boxee Beta works and how the Revo 3610 handles it all.

I’ll cover applications in Boxee that utilize GPU acceleration such as: Flash 10.1 Beta 2p, Silverlight, Move, and DX.  Should be an interesting post. May require two posts!

Stay tuned come January 7th after CES.
